Louisville VAMC - 2007 Recipient of the Secretary's Award for Performance Excellence
We are extremely proud to announce that the Louisville VAMC has been recognized as a recipient of the 2007 Secretary's Award for Performance Excellence in the category of "Performance Achievement". While these awards have been in existence for 16 years, this was the first award application submitted by the Louisville VAMC. What a testimony to the high level of quality health care and customer service provided to our nation's veterans on a daily basis!!!
The Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert W. Carey Performance Excellence Award is an annual award sponsored by the Secretary. This Award recognizes organizations within the Department that have implemented management approaches that result in sustained high levels of performance and service in seven areas; measurement, analysis, and knowledge management; workforce focus; process management ; and results. The awards follow the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award Criteria. These criteria are nationally recognized as a framework and standard for organizational excellence. It provides a model against which organizations can assess their quality transformation efforts, organizational effectiveness, and performance in delivering service and satisfying customers.
The award is dedicated to the memory of the late Robert W. Carey, who as Director of the Veterans Affairs Regional Office and Insurance Center in Philadelphia, PA, was recognized as a quality leader and champion for excellence in the Federal government.
