Louisville VA Medical Center

Parking

The medical center offers free parking on the grounds. Handicap, visitor, and general parking lots are clearly marked, with the areas closest to the entrances reserved for handicapped parking. For your convenience, parking lot shuttle service is available Monday through Friday, except federal holidays, from 8:00am through 4:00pm. Please refer to our parking plan for a detailed map of parking locations at the medical center. Please allow ample time to find parking, as parking is limited.

Valet Parking

Free valet parking service is available to Veteran patients. To participate:

  • Pull up to the main entrance of the medical center
  • Show your VA Patient I.D. card or appointment letter to one of the uniformed attendants
  • The attendant will take the keys and park your car
  • At the conclusion of your visit, return the claims check to the attendant who will retreive your car
  • Customers retrieving their vehicle after 5:00 p.m. should retrieve their keys from the VA Police Office on the Ground Floor, Room A016. The white courtesy phone will put you in contact with a representative who will then dispatch a VA Police officer to assist you.

Valet service will be available from 7:00 a.m. through 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, excluding federal holidays.

This is just one of the many ways we are working to improve our services for our veterans. Remember, this is a totally free service and tipping is not allowed.

Alternative Transportation

TARC Bus Transportation

The Robley Rex VA Medical Center is located on the TARC* bus line. The bus stop and bus schedules are located adjacent to the Clinic Entrance.

DAV Transportation Program

The Robley Rex VA Medical Center offers free transportation to the medical center & healthcare centers from select areas of our region. For more information please see our DAV Transportation page.

Security

The Robley Rex VAMC Police Officers provide 24-hour patrols of the facility and parking lots. For general police assistance, please dial (502) 287-5255. In case of an emergency, dial 911. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible.
