Congressman John Yarmuth spent a portion of his Valentine’s Day at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center, personally delivering hand-made Valentine Day cards to local area Veterans and thanking them for their service.  As the Congressman made his way to both the inpatient and outpatient units, he greeted Veterans, visitors and staff, often stopping to sign an autograph or take a photograph.

“Anything we can do to make their day a little brighter is something I’m glad to be a part of,” said Congressman Yarmuth.

The Valentine’s Day cards, paying tribute to local area Veterans, were hand-made by the students at St. Nicholas Academy.  This was the students second year participating in the annual “Valentines for Veterans” campaign.

During “National Salute to Veteran Patients” week, the Robley Rex VA Medical Center received thousands of valentine cards from the citizens of our community, each designed to let those who have given so much to our nation know that they are not forgotten.
